1st Glasgow Company The Boys Brigade —- Jan 2011
Happy New Year – Last month was busy for all sections. despite the weather the company section met each Friday and most boys made it. There were 2 Asda bag packs raising over £800. We have now raised just under £1700 which is absolutely fantastic.
We have our Coffee Morning on Saturday 29 January. tickets available as usual.
We had 2 surprise visitors. Captain Lucas Garth of 23rd Victoria Diamond Valley Company in Melbourne, Australia.
Another visitor was Captain Eric Pitt of 1st Brisbane Company which was founded by a 1st Glasgow Officer, George Orr who emigrated in 1913.
These visits remind us of the special place the Original Company holds in the Brigade globally.

Lodging House Mission — Jan 2011
9 shoeboxes or parcels and some cash donations went to LHM christmas Appeal.
A letter of thanks was received from John Hamilton the Project Leader.
Thank you again for your continuing support of our work. Many clients would face Christmas day with no remembrance of them if it were not for your thoughtfulness and generosity.
Homelessness Sunday Service at the Lodging House Mission on Sunday 30 January at 6.00pm.
