1st Glasgow Company The Boys Brigade —- Feb 2011
A Squad Challenge Medal has been returned to The Boys Brigade after being missing for over 30 years. The Squad Challenge Medal was first presented by the BB founder Sir William Smith in 1885. I was presented to the NCO of the squad with the best average attendance. Bill Steveneson, the current director of BB Scotland, formally presented the medal back to the company. It was only right that it therefore be presented to the current holder. Sgt Bobby Watt became the first Boy in 1st Glasgow history to wear TWO squad challenge medals – the replica, which he was awarded at last year’s Inspection, and now also the original.
